On the sidewalk (and in Stage Left), we'll be serving our Famous Burger, Lobster Rolls, Wild Salmon, Grilled Giant Prawns, Wild-Boar-Chili-Cheese Dogs, Iberico Ribs, our entire Steak Menu, and a Mixed-Grill for those who can't decide!  It won't be exclusively a meat-fest, as tomatoes and corn are at the height of their season. 

Music (4-7 PM)
We'll have live music on the street from 4 to 7 PM, provided by The New Brunswick Jazz Project (NBJP.org). 

Bourbon (Any time, but the bottle engraver will be here 4-6 PM)
Knob Creek is sponsoring this event.  Knob Creek is is a lovely sipping bourbon in its own right, and it makes a particularly sophisticated Julep.

We'll offer an array of cocktails particularly suited to Knob Creek (including Juleps and Brambles). Several different marks of Knob Creek will be available to try, up to and and including the 25th Anniversary bottling, which is the first Knob Creek ever bottled at cask strength.

Twenty-Five years ago (the same year we opened our doors) Booker Noe bottled the first batch of Knob Creek bourbon. With that, he inadvertently started a small-batch movement. A quarter century later, Booker’s son Fred Noe carries on his legacy, holding every barrel to the same rigorous Pre-Prohibition style standards. And to this day, Knob Cree remains a benchmark for full-flavored bourbon.

To celebrate their 25^th anniversary, they bottled a limited edition, unfiltered and cask-strength single-barrel bourbon.

Raj Gaur came to visit us a couple of years ago, when he released his excellent spiced whiskey. It is just delicious and extremely versatile. He calls it "Original Fusion #1 Blend."  When he asked us about sponsoring an event this summer, we didn't hesitate. 

Fusion is also the name of Rick Dalgedi's Calypso Band that visits us every summer. The happy sounds of the steal drum will return to the streets of New Brunswick Sunday, August 20. Music is from 5 - 8.  We will feature $9 Gaur cocktails, including a Gaur Old Fashioned, a Gaur Pistachio Sour and the Frozen Fusion Delusion. Yes, we made that last one up.

One of the most underrated, under-valued, age-worthy and delicious categories of wine is Riesling. Well, we collect Riesling. We certainly have the best and deepest Riesling list in NJ and one of the best in the country  Eighty-five wines from Germany and Austria that date back to the 1990s and range in price from $36 to $400!

This Sunday we are opening up the cellar and making all Riesling available at 1/3 off.These wines are some of the most food friendly on the planet, and while they don't go well with rare red meat, they are excellent with first courses in Stage Left and Catherine Lombardi, fish and our extraordinary cheese course. Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey is a classic and we made some great fancy cocktails with it. But Irish whiskey is also basic. Maybe 'fundamental' is a better word. 

 

A shot and a beer is nothing to look down one's nose at, especially if the shot is a great quality and so is the beer.  The fine folks at Tullamore are pointing that out, with their Dew and A Brew campaign.  We love the idea, and we're taking it a step further...because that's what we do.

Sunday, August 6th, come into Stage Left or Catherine Lombardi and order any Tullamore Dew drink (Shots start at $5 - Cocktails at $10) and any accompanying beer is 1/2 off. You know we have a phenomenal selection of 10 beers on draft and over 100 in bottles, including some rare vintage beers.

Francis just returned from Tales of The Cocktail in New Orleans, a week-long conference of about 35,000 bartenders and other liquor folks. Tough job, but someone has to do it. The single most talked about drink was the Frozen Irish Coffee at The Erin Rose bar on Conti Street! To-Go-cups are a thing in New Orleans so you would run into folks you knew on the street with an Erin Rose go-cup and you knew what was in it. No one was shy about asking for a sip and no one was shy about sharing. More germs were swapped among bartenders in-the-know on the streets of New Orleans than at a Sunday Mass.  We will be making Frozen Tullamore Dew Irish Coffee in our drinks machine this Sunday and offering them for just $5. Seriously, you have to try this stuff.
