Harbinger: A person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another. Soft Shell Crab: A Harbinger of Summer
Okay so, forget spring. Evidently, it's been cancelled. So let's just be done with this cold weather and head into the early part of summer. Our friend The soft shell crab is here to remind us that winter is finally, finally over.

Siembra Azul's portfolio includes a fruity Blanco, a flavorful Reposado, a complex Añejo and profound Extra Añejos. One of the trends we really celebrate is the increasing interest among consumers in professional-level wine and spirits education. We've hosted a few Pro-Am events and here we're offering another one.
Paul will be leading a tasting and seminar on rum here at the restaurant on Monday, May 12 at noon. According to Forbes.com, Paul is “America’s foremost spirits expert.” I attended this seminar myself last year in New York and it's fantastic. It's an overview of the 2,300 year history of rum, from the wilds of ancient Pakistan in 300 BC to the present day. Paul will be joined by journalist/spirits authority Sean Ludford and they will guide you on this journey. You will also blind taste a flight of crazy-delicious award-winning Rums from Barbados, Guyana, St. Croix, Panama, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and more exotic places. At least one distiller (Shaun Caleb from El Dorado) will be in attendance.
This event is FREE to the trade and only $20 to consumers. It's a rare opportunity. If you are a 9-to-5er, this might just be the reason you've been looking for to take that vacation day!
Monday, May 12 12:00– 2:00 pm seminar/tasting 2:00 – 3:00 pm Meet-and-greet with Hors d'Oeuvres
All places must be RESERVED. Hors d'Oeuvres will be served! We guarantee you’ll come away with a new appreciation of the world’s oldest, most versatile spirit.
In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William Grant set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work, it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.
You may not realize that Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned. William Grant and Sons owns many fine brands, but Glenfiddich is still their flagship. It is now the World's Most Awarded Single Malt* Scotch Whisky. In the 1960s it became one of the first single malt Scotch whisky to be promoted outside Scotland. When Mark and I started tending bar in 1986, it was still one of only three that you could find in only the best of bars, along with Macallan and Glenlivet.
The 21 Year is a rare mark indeed, aged in casks that once held Caribbean Rum.
I look forward to sharing a glass with you on Thursday at 6:30 precisely. We open one bottle beginning at 6:30.
