I'm slightly off. That's Mark's considered opinion anyway; and he reminds me of it often. It's true of course; I am drawn to things off-the-beaten-path. In fact, I think you count on me for it. You count on Mark and me to find you crazy unusual spirits and foodstuffs and wines and winemakers. You may not realize however, that I am also drawn to places off-season. The beach after Labor Day is much more rewarding to me, and certainly more peaceful.
It is in this vein that I would like to suggest that you consider celebrating with your Valentine on Sunday, February 12 or Monday, February 13. Valentine's Day in both restaurants is going to be lively and fun and so is Saturday, February 11. Don't neglect the idea of an lovely and romantic dinner on Sunday or Monday as a romantic option. What is it they say at Apple, "Think Different?"
On Sunday and Monday the Dom Perignon will flow a little more freely than usual. All of the wines on our list $99 and above will be priced so that you and your partner can get Two 5-oz Glasses of Dom Perignon along with the bottle of your choice, for the same price the bottle alone usually costs. So why not come on the uncommon day and drink exceptionally! Our wine list in both restaurants is chock full of excellent Cabernet, Chardonnay, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Brunello and Barolo; but it's also full of the uncommon. I think we have the only Swiss wine section in NJ and our German and Austrian sections are the best in the state. Come and play in our wine cellar (figuratively speaking of course), with Chef JR's exceptional American cuisine in Stage Left or Brooklyn-Italian in Catherine Lombardi.
